NextStep takes in old technology from the public then recycles what can't be used. However, over 60% is reused--refurbished--rebuilt and then gifted to people who couldn't otherwise afford it. NextStep also provides job and social skills training to marginalized community members. All ewaste is responsibly recycled with NW vendors who are carefully checked to make sure they process materials here in the US.
