Oregon Dream Makeover uses technology through it's Website, YouTube, Better.TV, Network marketing through various groups, Evite, Google Groups and Constant Contacts. Most importantly, we use our website to promote our sponsors and link to their websites, which was a big motivator in recruiting them. Our email marketing campaign has been another useful tool to promote our sponsors and our organization, as well as YouTube.
BetterTV posts a TV spot covering our first charity home makeover which has a national audience. We heavily used the network marketing sites to promote our fund raising event, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo, and Twitter, as well as Evite for another invitation delivery method. And lastly we use Google Groups as a virtual meeting space.
Technology is what has helped us to succeed in accomplishing a feat we weren't even sure was possible when we started. We rely on the remodeling and home furnishings industries, and these industries are hurting in this present economy. Because of this economic state we're in, we weren't sure if we were going to be able to get enough sponsor support to remodel an entire home in 2009, but we were able to accomplish our goals and more! Technology was a big reason contibuting to our success because it allowed us to publicize our sponsors and provide them with exposure needed to help boost their businesses during a tough time.
