1)The folks over at Red Cross have used really innovative ways to tell their story --- they have a blog with daily postings that I feel makes the rather scary and daunting subject of emergency preparedness more approachable. This is important because it's all information that the public really needs to be invested in. They also use Twitter and Ready Radio very effectively to achieve the same thing. The make emergencies... fun!
2)We have created fundraisers, collaborated on events and innovated the role of social media at the Red Cross.
1)I think that finding and properly harnessing the power of these new media has been incredibly effective to getting the word out for the Red Cross... sharing important information and actually making that information enjoyable!
2)It shows our ability to utilize new technology effectively when reaching out to our partners. Our community has broadened to new audiences that tend to use social media such as streamed radio, Twitter, Flickr, Blogspot and others.
