Collaborating for Change: Tools for Teamwork

Justin Yuen is the Founder & President of FMYI [for my innovation], a leading provider of private social networks and collaboration software. FMYI sites blend a community-building internal social network with tools for managing projects, sharing best practices, blogs, status updates, tracking tasks, collecting data, sending out surveys, generating reports, sustainability-specific modules, and more. Customers include Nike, Sony, HBO, Hyatt, Target, Martha Stewart, and thousands of other companies, government agencies, universities, and nonprofits. Committed to sustainability and positive change, FMUYI recently was certified as a B Corporation and has received other awards and recognition, including Sustainability Business Oregon 2010 Innovation in Sustainability award winner, as well as being a City of Portland Climate Champion! Most recently, Justin received Portland Business Journal's "40 Under Forty Award," designed to recognize 40 local executives and professionals under the age of 40 for the valuable contributions they have made to their local community.

In his presentation, Justin will discuss the basics of collaboration within an organization and how FMYI enables team to make a difference. He will talk about the importance of teamwork and address some best practices that lead to achieving great results. With FMYI as a backdrop, Justin will discuss how a team can utilize tools to track contacts, share resources, and manage projects, with a focus on organizations that strive to affect positive change.
